Trebbiano
Wine Name: Trebbiano d’Abruzzo
Winery: Montali
Region: Abruzzo, Italy
Denomination: Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOP
Varietal: 100% Trebbiano
Tasting Notes:
Trebbiano d’Abruzzo shows delicate almond and annurca apple aromas on the nose, leading to a lively, persistent palate marked by a refreshing acidity. This wine is vibrant and distinct, embodying the character of the Abruzzo terroir.
Winemaking Process:
Hand-harvested in mid-September, the grapes are collected in small 16-kg crates and cooled for 16-24 hours. The grapes are then destemmed, gently pressed, and the must undergoes cold settling in concrete tanks. After clarification, the must ferments at a controlled temperature of 14-16°C, spending five months on fine lees with periodic stirring to build structure and depth.
Perfect For:
This mineral, savory Trebbiano pairs excellently with both land and sea-inspired starters, including cured meats, cheeses, and roasted vegetables, as well as fish dishes and shellfish.
